Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has initiated a significant push for improved road connectivity across Uttar Pradesh, urging all MPs and MLAs to submit proposals for the construction of new roads, bypasses and bridges within the next 15 days. During a video conference with elected representatives, the chief minister stressed the importance of quality roads in every district, village and urban area, and highlighted that there is no shortage of funds for such projects. He called on the representatives to collaborate with district administrations and prepare detailed proposals, which will receive prompt attention from the state government. He emphasised that even villages with a population of just 250 should have access to paved roads. Yogi Adityanath also noted that in districts lacking bypass roads, representatives should prepare necessary proposals. He allocated budgets for enhancing connectivity to religious, historical and tourist sites, stating that better roads in these areas are crucial for promoting tourism. He reiterated the importance of connectivity for industrial and logistics parks, and called for immediate notifications if any tehsil or block headquarters is not connected by two-lane roads. The chief minister mentioned ongoing efforts to enhance interstate and international connectivity, including the establishment of Maitri Dwar at border areas. Additionally, he directed the completion of a statewide road repair and pothole filling campaign by October 10. He instructed officials to take strict action against overloading of heavy vehicles and to focus inspections at points of vehicle origin rather than disrupting traffic flow. The meeting saw participation from administrative officials across all zones, divisions and districts.
